For the Venom Creeper I decided on going with an ESC made by HPI called the SC-15WP. It retails for $51. The servo is waterproof, is LiPo friendly, and can be programmed with drag-brake. This should do just nicely.
I still haven't decided on a steering servo, so until I do, I probably just use one of my Spektrum 6040's. It's a little overkill in the speed department (0.08s @ 6v), but they're the torque-iest servos I have. (167.0 oz-in @ 6v)
